The David Lopatie Institute of Comparative Medicine

The building spans an area of approximately 10,000 m² and serves as an addition to an existing structure. The building includes animal rooms, laboratories, a sophisticated washing room, administrative offices, and more
The project features a façade covered with curtain walls made of Extal, with a glass composition of 6-12-6+1.52PVB+6. The external glazing uses Solarban Z-75, a type of glass manufactured by VITRO, mounted on a laminated glass with Opti blue glass, offering 46% light transmission, 22% solar factor, and an exceptionally low external reflectivity (9%). The use of this glass gives the project a unique bluish-gray appearance. The structural wall is segmental and composed of differently shaped panes of glass to match the trapezoidal lines of the structure, ensuring a proper connection between the lower radial area and the upper straight section
